I was struggling with how “hick-ish” to make Jethro, but then I thought: his name is JETHRO… so “Pawpaw” it is.

Side note: one of the trees on the orchard is the Pawpaw. Very interesting fruit, look it up. Depending on how the plot of this goes I might use it as a vehicle to nerd out about fruit… and hear Jethro’s FRUIT-SPIRACIES.
